So, I just spent the last twenty minutes teaching a very irate 7 year old boy how to chase a boogeyman out from under his bed with a poker. The poor creature didn't have a clue what to do when that little boy went after him...honestly, I'm surprised he hadn't been forewarned. Most of them know very well by now not to bother with my students

Zombies, vampires, werewolves, and other creatures drawn to darkness.

Here those creatures are generally citizens, as long as they do not cause too much trouble.

And when they stop being able to see them, they stop believing in them as well. Which is what happened to you, I would think.

Well isn't that for the best then? If it goes away if you don't believe it was just a part of you imagination to begin with. And if it's harmful; its better to pretend it doesn't exist.
