I fear I already know the answer to this question, but still I’m compelled to ask it ( Read more... )

Has it really been two weeks since anyone last saw him?

As far as I've been able to determine. His phone lists his missed calls dating back that far, and no one I've contacted has heard from him since. It appears the...last conversation I had with him may have been one of the last he participated in, here or on our world.

Oh no... that's terrible! I should have noticed that he was gone, but we hardly see each other anymore anyway...

But it can't really be a kidnapping, can it Mr. Edgeworth? Kidnappers usually want something, don't they? Like Mr. De Killer when... when he kidnapped Mystic Maya.

We've all been...quite busy lately.

There are...other reasons, but ransom and coercion are some of the most common. Wright is perhaps a more likely target than the average person, simply by dint of his career, but I haven't been able to determine any substantial motive for kidnapping.

We don't yet know that this is a mundane kidnapping. The community is just as likely a culprit.

Yes, I suppose so... but I still can't help feeling as if I should have noticed something.

But why would someone from the community want to kidnap Mr. Nick?

There was very little to be noticed.

Any number of reasons, unfortunately, including for no reason at all. The people here don't always display any method to their madness. And the community itself could also be responsible. Viruses in which people are transplanted into bizarre locations are all too common.

But if it was a virus, wouldn't other people have vanished as well?

Generally so, but limited viruses have been striking the community more and more frequently. Some have affected only a small number of people; some, only the members who live on one world. I believe there have even been a handful that affected only a single person.

So you mean that this could be one that could have only affected Mr. Nick? That's terrible!

It's possible. It's equally possible that a community member is responsible, or a local agent. At this point, there's simply not enough information to determine which, and I'm at a loss as to which is more preferable.

I suppose that we just have to keep our eyes open.

I will be, and I'll be doing a few other, more proactive things besides.

Okay. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help! Mr. Nick is my friend too... so I'd hate it if there was something I could do and I didn't do anything.

If I do find anything, I'll let you know. I trust that you'll do the same.

Don't worry, Mr. Edgeworth. Of course I will.
