[A calmer female voice speaks; the blonde navigator.] It's obvious that Sigma's involved, but things are bound to be different this time. It doesn't seem as if he's controlling these new Mavericks like puppets. They all seem to... BE him.
[Axl starts and turns around to face them instead of the camera, cutting in.] Wait, do you mean copies of Sigma?
[The blonde woman shakes her head slightly.] I'm... not sure. So far, all the sites attacked have been related to the
Jakob Project.
[Suddenly, an alarm interrupts them, and the blonde navigator seems startled.] Huh!? I'm picking up a transmission!
[X, Zero, and Axl stare at the main monitor as a strange new male Reploid reveals himself on screen; they all seem both frightened and angry all at once.]
[X finally reveals just who it is, upset but not surprised.] Sigma!
[Sigma almost seems amused.] Long time no see, X.
[X speaks again, frustration obvious.] You just don't know when to quit, do you?
[Sigma is unbothered by X's reaction.] Don't worry, X. It'll all be over soon and we'll never have to meet again. All the primitive space development of your world now belongs to me.
[Zero cuts in.] What? Space?
[Sigma sounds condescending; a tone that's obviously not foreign to him.] That's right. Our future lies in the sky! Your old world has outlived its usefulness.
[X is clearly angry this time.] Maverick scum! What's your scheme this time?
[Sigma feigns innocence.] Scheme? This is providence! I'm merely ushering evolution along its natural path.
[Axl seems bothered by that statement, speaking directly to Sigma for the first time.] Evolution?
[Before Sigma can respond, his transmission is cut, everyone seeming as startled by the cut as they did the arrival of the transmission. After a beat, X speaks.]
So, Sigma was really after the Jakob Project all along?
[The blonde navigator nods.] If you stop to think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Space development and the emergence of new generation Reploids aren't unrelated.
[Half a beat, and then Zero speaks up.] So, he's causing these new generation Reploids to go Maverick, huh? We can't let him get away with this.
[The navigator nods and presses some buttons, checking something.] Sigma's transmission was disrupted by the orbit of the satellite. This is lucky! The Elevator is still functional, so we can use it to get to him!
[Axl speaks up, sounding confident as per usual.] Sounds like a plan to me!
[X nods, looking over at Axl; he pauses for a beat, thinking.]
Zero, let's go. Axl, when we need you, we'll send for you. For now, stay here at the base and don't do anything reckless, okay?
[Axl turns to the camera to roll his eyes, but turns back to X and salutes.] You got it! I'll be waiting, X!
[X nods, and he and Zero teleport out. Axl turns to the camera, smiling sheepishly.] Looks like I got turned back to normal just in time, huh? [He breaks into a grin.] I can't wait to wipe the floor with that scumbag Sigma! [He cuts the camera off.]
