Hello everyone. Uh. Sorry I haven't been around lately. Stuff's been happening at home?

My psychiatrist took me to a mental ward today. There were some people with really odd problems. Some had weird fears too.

I guess it got me thinking about something, but I didn't want to say anything to my psychiatrist. She, uh. Makes me nervous.

When you're ( Read more... )

You... should always be aware of your mental state. And if you truly are oblivious, then your mind will eventually bring up the dormant memories.

...It depends on what you have done.

(OOC: Dude. You just struck a cord in Gaara LIEK WOAH. HE HAS A LOT OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IN THIS SUBJECT. DAMN. LOOKS LIKE IT'S EMO TIEM FOR HIM. D:)

Huh. That's... nothing like my doctors try to tell me.

Does it?

((oblivious Ryou is oblivious! |D watch your emo around Ryou, Gaara, or Bakura might come out~))

What do they tell you?

Yes.

(OOC: I know. Shit. If Bakura comes out, Gaara will be pissed. He knows that Bakura threatened to kill Bella.)

They try to make it simple. They say that an insane person is simply that and in need of help, and that the only reason they ever refuse help is because they are in denial of their problems. That's... pretty much all they ever tell me if I ask.

That would definitely make sense, I suppose.

((OSHI--haha, a taunting point for 'Kura~ >D))

That's quite a bit of deep thinking.

I--Is it? I was just curious.

Well, I wouldn't think an insane person would think such questions in the first place. So you're probably good.

O--Oh, uh. Thank you, Dark-san.

((Forward-dated after his questioning for something he did while insane. D:))

From what I've seen, the insane person thinks what they're doing is rational. If other people disagree with what they're doing, it's because something is wrong with them (in the crazy person's head). Maybe it's that those other people are crazy, or maybe it's that the insane person believes they can't be judged by the same standards as them because they're "better" than others...maybe they believe there's just no point to morals. Those kind of ideas.

...and yes, that's personal experience. I've gone insane before. Afterwards I could tell just how messed up what I did was, but during the time, it seemed to make perfect sense to me.

That's... what I was thinking it must be like, but I didn't want to bring it up with my doctors. They're supposed to be the proffessionals, after all.

Aa. I see. I wouldn't know if I've ever felt like that or gone through anything similar...

I guess it could be different for different people. There's probably as many ways of thinking for crazy people as there are for the sane. What do your doctors say it'd be like?

"Wouldn't know if..."? You have problems with your memory?

Do you think it might have happened?

My phyciatrist said that it would be similar to the rush you might get on a certain kind of drug or similar thing. And that you would be aware of your problems, but in complete denial of needing help.

I have amnesia frequently. It ranges from long-term to short-term. For example, I still remember the deaths of my mother and sister, but I can't remember how I woke up in my room this morning. I can't remember anything of yesterday from midday onwards.

I'm... not sure. Father told me that the only reason he was sending me to a psychiatrist was to see if they could help with my amnesia...

Oh, uh, no, it wasn't really for me. Curiousity just got the better of me, I suppose.

Um. But, my amnesia's been getting a little better, at least. I think.

I knew. Every second that passed hurt because I knew I was insane, but my actions made perfect sense to me. They still do.

Not everyone is quite so aware, though. My aunt neither knew nor cared until the madness faded, and she abhorred what she had been driven to do while under my influence.

That... helps a lot. I can understand it a little better now. Thank you for sharing that.
