hello long lost livejournal!
soooooooooo
school is my life. my life is this conservatory program. as much as i don't want to admit it, as much as i try to think i have a life outside of conservatory, i don't. and its not that bad, im not gonna lie. haha.
oh, sophomore year! the dreaded sophomore year, the BIG CUT year! so far...its going great. my scene in acting has progressed very well and now, i start a new scene this friday (and i dive back into research for this too, uggggggggh). let me see...oh yeah, i was cast in Bye Bye Birdie, i dont know if i mentioned that or not. our first rehearsal is this sunday! i cannot wait for that to start!! oh yeah...ET's! ET's are small one-acts that Senior Performance Majors and Junior Directing Majors direct. I was cast in SubUrbia, by Eric Bogosian, and we performed that this past tuesday. it went great. im content with my performance in it. im also sooo critical on myself, so i know i could of done better. i was also cast in another ET that goes up Nov 8! its called DOUBT by John Patrick Stanely! it was on Broadway and up for Best Play and the guy who played Father Flynn was up for a Tony too! i'm Father Flynn and i cant wait to jump into this play! i'm reallly excited about it and the rest of the cast is awesome. its going to be a great ET, i could just tell. we start rehearsals for that this weekend. Voice/Speech is of course kicking all our asses! right now, we're fine tuning our skills in the International Phonectic Alphabet and beginning to learn American Stage Standard, our first of many dialects! Pilates is fun, Yoga is fun, Design for Actors is fun, my academic classes are going pretty sweet, Ballet II is hard of course but im getting thru it, Jazz is fun cuz its all my friends in there with me and my voice lessons are going grrrrrrrreat! my voice teacher, vicki smith, is amazing! i LOVE going to voice lessons, last year i didnt cuz my voice teacher then sucked ass, but i love my progress with my singing, its going good. next semester we start gymnastics and musical theatre, that's gonna be exciting.
well, thats my year up to date...
Fall Break is in a week and a half. i'm not going back home, im gonna stay here in st.louis mainly cuz i have my own place and i really just want a week to rest.
i hope all is well with all of you guys out there! who knows if i'll ever see some of you all again (particulary my friends back home) but i know we will all somehow run into each other one way or the other. God Bless ya'll!
