first off, last night i drunk many tequila sunrises with friends, which was a bad mistake cuz my audition was at 8:54am this morning and i had to be there at 7:30 to sign in...yeah, bad, but o well i had a fun night.
did the whole audition thing, kind of nervous, but not really just becuz i've already rehearsed on the main stg before so it wasn't that big of a deal. i didnt expect anything, honestly, i expected that i get ZERO callbacks becuz a)i'm going on sunday (and by sunday most theatres have their shows casted) b) i didn't sing in my audition, which i fuckin should have c)i did two monologues, which isn't a bad thing to do, but again, i didn't sing and summer stock theatre is ALL MUSICAL and d) i was still drunk when i auditioned, i swear to God, my knees were still weak and ugh it was bad.
so as me and amanda williford (a sophomore musical theatre major) were leaving the call back boards to go to the dance audition, i say to her "dude, i didn't get shit, i shouldnt even do the dance audition" and she says "but there's still some theatres that havent posted call backs" AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE OF THE RUNNERS COMES IN AND WE LOOK AND I GOT ONE FUCKIN CALL BACK!!! PRAISE THE LORD IN HEAVEN, I GOT A CALL BACK! it changed the momentum of my day. i went to the dance audition, sucked ass of course cuz it was some crazy Fosse jazz stuff, but had a good ass fuckin time while doing it though!
the lovely theatre that called me back was the HOPE SUMMER REPERTORY THEATRE in Michigan! in the call back, she told me how they usually don't call back freshman, but my audition was "exceedingnly well done". we talked for a bit, she videotaped my monologues and had me do a song, so i did "sailing" from "a new brain" cuz it was stuck in my head all day. they were interested in having me for the Acting Internship Program, where your guarenteed one main stg show, one childrens show, and any other show they may what you in during their summer season. if i get this job...wow...i'll piss myself and say bye bye Sea World...maybe, i have to think about that last one.
so now MidWest Auditions are finally over. there were close to 70 theatres here and i would have to say more than 1000 people who auditioned over friday, saturday, and sunday....ridiculous. all the webster students did amazing, as usual...the most call backs were i think marty soole, a senior, who got 52 call backs....yeah, that's ridiculous.
now, i have a paper to write, a scene to rehearse, an oscar party to attend, and some other random ass homework that i'm sure i need to do.
adios.
