(no subject)
-IWPS Grand Slam for Writers' Block came and went...I took 3rd...it was a close one. I had sort of kicked myself for the 2nd round poem-I did Storm Chaser-tried to give it something different-tried to show some range in each round. I was happy with my performance-it being different from the norm but in the end it didn't get the numbers I would've needed to pull ahead.....thus is slam.
-On the upside I got recognized by two different strangers this week for being a poet-once on the bus and once by one of the new hires at work. That will brighten any crap day!
-Really working hard on getting some new stuff written as I will be featuring at First Draft on 9/17!!!! Totally a little scared but hoping this provides some of the fire I need to jump start my brain. Spike and I and a few other folks are working on a little writing group. We met last week and it was fun and helpful. We're supposed to meet again this week..I am supposed to have a poem for this...guess I know what I will be doing tonight after Tyrone's grad party.
-Really sad Tyrone is leaving again :-(
Also leaving is Patrick-who I got to spend a good amount of time with these last couple of weeks and it been nice-just a shame we only realized we get along so well right before he's moving away.
-I am sad I missed Urban Scrawl today but I got home pretty late (or ealry-7am) and slept until noon. The house needed cleaned really really bad. I am running low on cleaner though I did my best..I hate cleaning the bathroom without soft scrub with bleach-its my go to cleaning product-bathroom just doesn't feel clean enough without it. Just another couple of weeks of scrimping and such and I will be getting paid for my full time hours and feeling like an adult again( the ability to stock up on cleaning products,getting right with my student loan payments, eyebrow waxings, new bras to replace the ones I have hulked out of lately!! Joyous!). Today also marks the 1 year anniversary of the day i was fired from COSPEC...still have pretty mixed feelings about it all but what can ya do? I look forward to going full time with DSW as I have felt like this past year has been me still recovering from losing my job-it will be nice not to feel like such a succubus anymore-though I will still need the occasional ride to and from work on Saturdays.
-Super excited for Monday! Spike and I are heading to Indy so I can do a feature!!! :-) This is some many of my favorite things in one day its amamzing-sleeping in on Monday cause I dont have to work, a roadtrip with Spike who could make getting cavities filled fun somehow, and getting to meet new people in Indy AND perform a feature!!! YEAY!
