Happy 2006, kids

Jan 01, 2006 03:06

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's time for the expected sappy "Happy New Year" post. So, here goes...

2005 was a really really really great year. It had it's ups (graduation and everything that went along with it, starting college, making new friends, all the time I spent with old friends, my two new baby cousins) and downs (relationship/self-confidence/paranoia issues, going away to college, small bouts of homesickness and friend-missing), but overall, I certainly can't complain.

I'm in such a good place right now, and I'm really lucky to have my amazing family that I love with all of my heart, my friends who inspire me and who I would give up anything for, the house I live in that will always be home, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, and a school where I'm experiencing new things, meeting new people, furthering my education, and growing up.

I spent my last day of 2005 with two of my absolute favorite people in the entire world, and I rang in the new year with even more people that I adore. I didn't have anyone to kiss, but eh, whatever. The evening was sort of low-key, but there ain't nothing wrong with that.

I hope you all have had a safe and happy evening, and that 2006 brings nothing but bigger and better things for you. I love you all, and thank you for making 2005 as great as it was.
