Despondent is a word, so is disillusioned, but none of them can effectively describe my laxity in wanting to go to the movies recently. Gone are the days where I'd spring out of my bed with such fervor, because I knew there was a chance my mother would take me to the movies (yeah she had her good streaks) that day, to see what lovely piece of cinematic imagination fodder I'd be exposed to this week. Now I just find myself making excuses as to why I'm not updated on the new releases, trying to find different ways of obscuring that glazed over look I've whenever someone asks whether or not I've seen V for Vendetta...uh, next question please. Do not pass go. Thank you....
I haven't felt inspired to go to the theaters. Not even the bloated trailers of said V for Vapid movie can coax me out of my made for cable, or worse, Masterpiece Theater slumber. I like my Tori Spelling teen dramas, and my Traci Gold inspirational, and yet morally sound mini series. They've their advantages...ok who am I kidding, they're only good for one thing and one thing only-- excellent vegging out on the couch material. You wanna know the truth? They all suck. Yeah, I could have come up with a more delineative word for "suck", but you just got to adopt the skateboarder vernacularism/ideology. Rest assured though the word 'dude' will make no appearance in this journal whatsoever.
Anyway, what are some of the ways today's films differ from the films of yester year? Even up till about fifty years ago. Or do you notice a contrast at all?
Something to think about while I go pop in a dvd.
