I wrote last night about a voluntary way to solve our funding issues at the federal level. Today I plan to discuss one of those ways as it occured to me that most people don't even know those ways exist.

Lets cut to the chase. Federal programs need to be funded. I call for abolishment of the income tax system. How is this accomplished? Well, I'm appalled that the liberalcans and republicrats don't look into federal sales tax further. From everything I have seen this is the only tax that is truly opt-in. That means it's the only constitutional tax. When we use federal income tax the money is taken straight from the pocket of the tax payer before he spends it. Why not let the tax payer spend it on the economy and keep taking bites from it every time it gets spent. We kill two birds with one stone. On one hand we improve the economy and we still make budget. The federal government would probably have more money than it knew what to do with under this system. All because whenever somebody goes and buys something "frivolous" they get paid.

Federal sales tax is the only tax that would bridge the divide between the rich and poor. The trick is in exemptions. If we tax exempt food and a healthy percentage of necessary living items it means the poor won't be paying tax from the money they need to thrive. All while joe rich boy goes out a buys a new SUV and puts money into the federal programs we know and love. We could downsize the IRS and cut budget at the same time. After all they would probably be getting bored from the lack of work.
