This August I want to:
-Take circus classes in Brattleboro! They have them there! Who knew? www.nimblearts.org I can't wait...they even have flying trapeeze, which I don't think they offer at the Actor's Gym...so whoo!
-Try to find some sort of puppetry workshop at UConn...apparently they are the only university in the US to offer a puppetry major...so they must have some sort of summer thing I can check out, right?
-Also, puppets in Vermont (thanks Mollie!)
-Go hiking lots!! I really want to see how many mountains I can scale in a month...
-Revel in the combined awesomeness of Gabe and Leslie
-Go contra dancing!
Sometime soon/maybe this summer I want to:
-Get some materials together and start messing around with puppet possibilities. Googly eyes and feathers? Giving a piece of felt some personality? Combining bodies/materials to create puppet people? Puppets are so fantastic because they can provide these physical representations of their true essence...all they can be is the puppet. I can give my puppets drawers to their hearts where they can keep things...hair made of flowers...hands with long, pointed fingernails...eyes full of sunset... hmmmm...
-make some movies with said puppets. Or maybe write a play? who knows...
-Find some contra in Chicago...there must be a barn somewhere, right?
-Look into improv classes in the city
-Make it up to the Dearborn telescope a couple times...white dwarfs were discovered right here. How cool is that? I have this amazing resource here and I'm just ignoring it.
-Tuba? Peut-etre.
Also, I didn't get into the musical theatre program, which is okay. The only thing that puts a furrow in my brow is that I'm the only MT Cherub who didn't get in. But other than that, this is not a bad thing. Failure is really good for me. Both physically and mentally, I am slowly becoming STRONG LIKE BULL.
...I want to be a redhead again. I'll work on it.
