Today is my day for the IWRY marathron. So go over and read Heavy Hearts and then read the other stories (if you haven't already - they're fantastic).

Let me know what you think.

Finally reading and reviewing. *does a boogie*

First thing I must ask is, are these all drabbles? For real? I can't imagine writing such an epic story with such constraints, but if you did it, power to you! Or if they aren't - still a neat set-up, like a lighthouse flash on quick sequential scenes.

I've read a lot of B/A AU stories in which some part of their early days is changed, but never one with a plot quite like this. I loved it. Seeing Buffy gradually come to trust him and lean on him after losing everyone else was touching and fascinating, and both of them seemed to be very much in character despite the differences from canon.

My favorite part was Angel bringing her to the fair and making her have fun despite her resistance. They're just so sweet together. The dialogue is nice and smooth and keeps the right voice, and neither one of them has an easy voice to recreate.

Only complaint I have is not actually a complaint - it's just so hard to always have that ultra-ominous reference to perfect happiness whenever Buffy and Angel have sex for the first time! Especially when the story ends there...*shudder* Can I pretend that maybe the curse works differently in this universe, and everything's going to be okay?

Oh no, and without Willow around to cast the spell...ack!

Okay, okay, I'll survive. :) It was a great story. Thanks for participating in IWRY.

Thank you for the review.

They are indeed all drabbles. I thought it would be an interesting challenge to write the story in 100-word drabbles. The worst part was being stuck at 101 words and having to choose a word to delete (or rewriting a section).

The fair was one of my favorite parts too. As was writing the development of their relationship.

You may pretend things will be okay. After all, once a story ends, it's free game as to what happens next. Though if I ever get around to writing a sequel...

Well, there's always Ms. Calendar. Buffy could meet her since Jenny would've been sent to Sunnydale to keep an eye on Angel... And she'd feel sorry for Buffy and Angel, translate the gypsy curse (and work out the loophole with the extra time), and cast it.

Thanks again. I had a blast writing this and I've enjoyed reading the other entries, so thank you for the marathon.
