Day 52

Oct 13, 2014 22:09

Got up early this morning to go with my parents to Nippori so that they could take the train to the airport. We took a taxi to Mejiro, and from there it was pretty smooth sailing thanks to the fact that there were no subway lines so escalators and elevators were aplenty. I think my parents were pleasantly surprised too, because on the way to our first place we didn’t think to take a taxi and getting to the subway line was quite torturous. I bid them a teary farewell at Nippori and then headed back to the apartment to tidy up, work on my budget and organize other things. I have less money left than I expected… so I’ll try to budget what I spend from now on, but I suspect I may have to top up my travel money card too. It’s amazing how fast money goes when you don’t monitor spending, like in the past week. At around midday I lugged my stuff to Khaosan hostel and after some distress to my poor shoulders, made it there. Phew. Looks like I’m going to be staying in tomorrow though, what with the typhoon and heavy rains and all.
