Day 37

Sep 28, 2014 23:59

I dropped off my leftover food at Fiona’s place in the morning (mostly rice… why the hell did I buy 5kg of rice for myself) and then we went to another doujinshi event, except this time there were more anime that I was actually interested in - including Kaiji and Akagi! So rare. Too bad it cost 900 yen to get in and the trip there and back on the monorail cost another 1200 yen or so, which meant that to get the one doujinshi I bought (which cost 300 yen) I spent 2100 on the way. Oh well, the monorail was an interesting experience and I love doujinshi events, so it wasn’t a complete waste of money in my opinion.

Afterwards we went to Shibuya to have lunch at a place mentioned on a Tokyo food blog we’d read before we came here. I had a oyakodon, which was chicken and egg on rice (literally “parent and child on rice”). Still can’t get used to the whole raw egg white thing, but luckily it didn’t have too much of it so I scarfed it down thanks to the power of hunger. Wasn’t too bad at all, all things considered. Following that we went shopping again and I had a very unhealthy dinner of brownies and wedges in Tokyu Hands, which we browsed for a few hours afterwards until we both decided to call it a day. Phew, I’m beat. So much walking this weekend…
