After a day of endocrinology, we had a meeting with the gen med doc who took us around the local public health clinics to show us what went on there. She also showed us the Dock clinics and the rounds that the patients make to check up everything. Following that, Alena did her presentation and then she, Dilhumor and I went to St Luke’s Tower for a last dinner before Alena would depart the next evening. It was fun to hang out with her in the last couple of weeks, especially considering our interests were somewhat similar. It was also great to learn so much about Czech - before this I knew next to nothing about it, but now I feel like I understand it quite a bit.
Matt was also leaving the next day, so we finished dinner pretty early and I headed off to Omotesando to meet up with Matt and Phil for a last dessert session. I’d looked up a place in Omotesando Hills beforehand which, luckily, turned out to be awesome, if not slightly pricey. But hey, the service and presentation was great, so personally I think it was well worth it. We chatted for a few hours over traditional Japanese sweets and tea and took lots of photos in the restaurant and outside in the lobby. A nice little send-off!
