The Price of Honour Paid, but What it Was, I Know Not Still...

Another War is come to an end, another year the Moon has turned, another Passing of the Torch. And I, for my part, yet again have played a role in th' enthroning of a King, th' enthroning of a Friend. And it was so that, at the end of things, the troubles past little relevancy bore. Friendship proved greater than wont of damned circlet. And yet, for I, it comes finally to this: one small soldier wond'ring to the Stars have I fought, and have I done to my fullest? Does my honour yet blaze shining silver as the burnished Moonlight? Do the mighty gods and all my ancestors, far and near, look down upon me from above, and claim with Pride that I am their own? To the last, at least, I know the answer, for it lies in the very Heart of me.
