Hi there kids and kiddettes! Yes, Uncle Drakkar has returned to LJville with presents for all the good little boys and girls! Wow, has it really been six months since I posted anything? Seems like yesterday but also like much longer at the same time. So much has changed and so much remains the same. I think Michael Jackson said it best when he said, "Hey Mikey, what size underoos do you wear?" So, I'm in the fine city of Tamarac, Florida these days by way of Orlando for a couple months in January through March. Who would have thought things would change so much so rapidly? Well, me, for one. Because they always do.
So, here's the lowdown: After the fantastic trip to New Orleans as seen earlier, I went to visit said friends in Orlando for Thanksgiving and had a very nice visit there with them all. I lost my job at CenturyTel on 12/31/2003 for the horrible crime of poking my cubicle wall with a broken piece of wood and using foul language under my breath with a customer on hold. I had been considering moving to Orlando to live with Morgan and Loni and the other roommate Fred sometime in the middle of 2004, but with the loss of work, I figured I'd just go on and move and so I took my last check and did just that. It was nice there for a while even if the job market was not the great thing I had hoped it would be. Most of the time everyone there was either asleep or glued to their computers playing MUSHes. I didn't mind so much really at first, but after a while, little things started getting to me. LIke how I was pretty much ignored there which was the opposite of how it had been on previous visits, or how Morgan would just get angry or upset over nother, or how Loni forgot I even existed in the same world, much less the same house. Sadly, in the end, I got along better with Fred than anyone else. They are currently either selling or have sold their house in orlando and are moving up to Oklahoma. I didn't wanna go with on that trip. I moved out in mid-March to Tamarac, which is pretty much Fort Lauderdale. I found out someone I had feelings for and had been up in Nevada before, where I would likely never have had the chance to visit or meet, had been forced to move because her asshole roommates decided to end the lease and not tell her until two weeks before they moved out. Oh, and they decided they were gay lovers then, too. Ain't life funny like that?
Anyway, so Kacey and her two daughters, aged 10 and 8, moved to Tamarac with a friend's help and I decided to come down and visit with Loni and Morgan left for their first road trip to OK to find houses. Meeting was good and so I went back again a couple weeks later. And then decided to just move out and move down here to live with Kacey and the girls. It's a good life here. I am not online as much as I used to be and don't really miss it. Not MUSHing anymore, as I have hit one of my periods of boredom with text-based entertainment. I tried getting back into Everquest with no luck and tried out City of Heroes, which rocks and I am just waiting for some money to buy the retail version.
Oh! And I finally got a good job that isn't on the phones. Quality Assurance and Software Tester for a small software company. I love it! Today is the fourth day of my new job and it feels so good to be able to relax some at work and not be stressed all the time or talking to idiots. The pay is good and the people here at wonderful!
So, I guess I don't totally Hate It Here, but give it time...I can always find something to bitch about. I am sure with two pre-teen girls in the house, I will have enough material to keep this journal full of excitement and mischief. Hi to those who remember me and missed me and if you found me through someone else onthis fine day, jump on board and keep your hands inside the cart at all times.
