In "sweet schmoes on a rope, that would be fargin awesome!" news: Despite the fact that the film doesn't open until this Friday, the sequel development wheels have already begun turning over at New Line regarding what to do next with the Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees characters should the film succeed and make a killing at the box office (is there really any doubt that it will at least make it's money back, which would be more then enough to spawn at least one more film?). I personally think that fans and fanboys alike would agree that what they have come up with would be nothing less then pure... freeking... gold! Ash vs. Freddy & Jason! Brilliant! Here's the scoop from Creature Corner: Reliable sources have revealed that one of the current ideas being tossed around includes a scenario where Freddy and Jason would team-up against a common enemy: Bruce Campbell as Ash from the "Evil Dead" films. As crazy as it might sound, this concept has apparently been met with a great deal of enthusiasm in the upper-echelons of New Line Cinema. And rightfully so! What fan of the genre in their right mind wouldn't want to see that one played out on screen! I can hear Ash now: "Attention S-Mart shoppers, would 'Goalie Boy' and 'Fingers' please report to Housewares for an attitude adjustment!"
