This shot is in colour though you would never know it. Yesterday in Hobart it was overcast and clouds obscuring most of Mt Wellington. I had intended to walk up the Pipeline Track to Silverfalls but with all the fog and drizzle i thought it an ideal photographic opportunity. Mist and fog can provide interesting photos and at times visibility was down to 10 metres towards the top. You would have thought some of the other drivers would have at least put their lights on but no such luck and there were afew close calls with other cars! Ironically when i was back on the mountain today with far better conditions, then i needed to be towed out of an awkward situation. Go figure but thanks to the people who stopped and offered assistance so quickly, it was amazing how generous people can be.
Todays photo is of one of the carparks on Mt Wellington that i guess is at an altitude of around 1100 metres and because of its size is popular with those motorists who are a fan of circlework. On any other day my reaction would have been “meh so what” but with the thick fog it presented an interesting shot and i adjusted this photo to get the skidmarks to show up more.
