Another update that isn't necessarily about my life! And a public one too. It's one of those pensive entries where your thoughts on the subject would be even more valued than usual (which is already a lot on its own ( Read more... )

Haha don't worry, we know you have a lot going on ♥

Ugh as much as I want to think of females as the superior gender and as much as I think we can be more sensible at times, the ugly side of the gender makes me want to retract any statements like that. Women can be so gross and catty and so prone to having their jealousies and insecurities manifest in negative ways it makes me soo disappointed in us sometimes. I'm still a feminist, but I wish my gender didn't make it so hard for it sometimes. I also wish certain kinds of female feminists didn't make the term 'feminist' be seen as such an aggressive term.

OH MY GOD. NINJA STORM. *hyperventilates* Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder were the only two PR seasons I watched all the way through since like Zeo. And I loved them both but I LOVED Ninja Storm. The characters were all amazing and even though Tori was an independent female blue Ranger, she wasn't a cranky bitch and she didn't fall all over Blake. Tori was amazing. And yeah, Dustin was kinda ditzy, but he was also super-loyal (and adorable) without being too feminized? But my obsession was Cam... lol idek.

Anyway. Haha I love my mom, too (and she would love you.) And I'm really glad she instilled what she instilled in me. We still don't have the exact same views but we still respect each others' stances on things as far as women go. I can be sliiightly old-fashioned sometimes (I won't make the first move, etc.) She definitely doesn't overlook significant women. Her heroes are all like Gertrude Stein and Edith Wharton-- the more literary and intellectual the better.

Thank you for thinking I'm a strong female &hearts! I definitely try to be a present woman without being overpowering. And that's definitely been more of a struggle now, especially in the workplace and in the dating field. But I think it's better that I wasn't struggling with it while growing up because hey, during adolescence, the less confusion, the better.

Mad Men is flawless and amazing and Peggy and Joan are wonderful and beautiful and I'm obsessed with Christina Hendricks but watching the show makes me SO sad sometimes. I'm grateful for the strides that have been made for women in the past decades but the more I watch, the more I see how little things have changed sometimes. Thankfully there are more laws and guidelines for behavior, especially in the workplace, but attitudes can still be so similar to the way they were.

Regardless, I'm DYING for Season 5.
