Time check: 7:31pm

Today's my fifth week in ABS Interactive. Exactly a week ago, I received my first ever salary. Just this morning, naubos na sya officially. haha. Had to pay the rent, some bills, grocery etc. What I get here is barely enough to get me by. lord.

this week, i've been going to work after lunch na. my boss said it was just alright. my big boss said it's not. there are things that i need to submit first thing in the morning, not in the afternoon. so i guess, starting next week, i'll have to wake up early again. argh.

whether i come to work late or not, it's the same -- i stay until around 9pm. lotsa stuff to finish. eveything here is ugent. everything is labeled priority. how could i possibly manage everything?

This monday, i signed the contract. I don't think i'll sign another one again. i don't think i would stay another three months. don't get me wrong. i like it here. the pressure's just fine. i actually stayed up all night last sunday just to submit a file first thing in the morning. i won't complain. it was my choice to burn the midnight oil. it is also my choice for staying late in the office. I like what i do. it's no very commres, not hard-core research. but it's alright.

i like my workplace. even though at first it looked to me like an assembly line, a doll making factory. its dark, cold, gloomy, snob. even the bosses don't have their own cubicles. they just get their own tables, and their own spot beside one of the glass panes that you see sprawled across ELJ Tower's facade. it's freaking cold in here. everyone wears jacket, or shawls. i even got sick during my first week. i wasn't able to catch up with the temperature change. lord.

Each day, i get to see one, two, three Kapamilya Celebrities. from the Ogie Diaz to Direk Lauren Dyogi. when i'm lucky, i see Ronnie Liang, Christian Bautista, Kris Aquino, Rayver Cruz. When i'm not that lucky, i see some of the 26K or some stars in GoKadaGo. Not to mention that last Tuesday, i saw all the housemates at our lobby. haha. silly as it may sound, i was starstruck. lord.

And of course, the people. the Interactive people. i love them. they're hip, young, bubbly, and FUN FUN FUN. at first i thought that in an environment like this, it is impossible to know everyone you're working with. we are likke 50 people in one big, unpartitioned room. gahd. but hell are they fun. especially after 7pm, when all the bosses have left already. people shout DEAL along with the contestant we're watching on the monitors. when things get really crazy, just like now, guys race with their chairs-turn-bumpcars.

this afternoon, i was shocked when my boss called me to present how our promos performed for the month of June. lord. was only given barely 30mins to get everything set. Next week, i'll present the same thing to the whole marketing team. and based on my boss' comments, there's still a ton of things to do. and i could start by coming in earlier. haha. come in late, come out late. lord. this is gonna be on hell week.

at the pantry, there's always a poll. yesterday, it was: WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE SUPERHERO? of course there were a lot of interesting replies. Hero Angeles. Mang Tomas, Inuyasha, Kidlat of Batang X, Peter North, etc. I replied with MIGHTY MOUSE, MY HERO. haha. corny.
Today the poll was: WHO's the Hottest in INTERACTIVE? number one in the list, the big, Big, BIG BOSS himself, his cuteness, Sir Pao. haha.

Lord.

despite this all, I can't believe i'm activating my jobstreet account again. yes, i'm looking for a new job. i don't intend to settle yet. especially not with ABS. I need to eat, y'know.

Ok, enough rants. back to work.

Time check: 8:05pm

work, rants
