i'm at that point at work, where you're ready to go home, you're done, finished for the day in your head, but it's only 3:00.. getting restless. i'll be down in chattanooga saturday. there's a show at rhythm & brews, and i hear a drag show at lamars...
the family's a little, well, messed up again. i'm also coming down to gather the last of my things from their house. they may or may not be moving out of it. which, means i might get to take our family dog, maple. she's the sweetest, prettiest collie-retriever mix, about 10 years old. fencing would be the only tricky part. as we currently have none at the new house. could try invisible fencing, but it might freak her out. she's a nervous dog.
i'm finally finally almost done with the lost. it's an amazing book. mendelsohn has a wonderful way of tying everything together. it's different than other holocaust books i've read, in that it is also very joyous in parts. it's heartbreaking, but in a much more approachable way than others are. and there are all of these photos--if you've read let us now praise famous men, they have the same kind of effect. they're no longer part of this faceless mass, and it's so exciting to "see" them.
my job's changing, developing, mostly in good ways. i'm inadvertently becoming a supervisor (that's how we do things here, we don't hire supervisors, we shove the next available whoever in when one leaves). but i'm mostly okay with that. another girl is supposed to be coming in to help once tax season is over. but the other two i've been working with for a good year or so now are both moving elsewhere. i really like it here--i only just got back to the regular office from this outside project last week. i really like what i'm doing, but if they don't officially promote me in the next few weeks i'm gonna have to move on. it has been long enough.
well, back to workin'.. :)
