it's been raining incessantly here all day--when i got out of work all the cars were plastered with white petals from the bradford pear trees along the roadside. wilco was last thursday.. they were amazing. our seats were actually rather satisfactory, too, actually because of being late getting tickets. we were in the part for handicapped seats--which is right in the middle and up a little higher than everyone else, was pretty good.. we got to watch some very excited drunk people nearly fling themselves from the balcony dancing. i dont think i'd ever been to the tennessee theater before--it's beautiful, though.
then friday there was the appropriate drunkenness.. that too was lots of fun. shane had taken saturday morning off, so we got to just sleep in, have bagels and eggs in bed, and all that sort of thing.
so this weekend, i'm headed to st louis to see rebecca's apartment--before she moves out of it in another month after graduation.. hate that's it's taken me so long to get back there, but it's such a tedious drive.
i'm currently in the library down the road from my apartment.. beside me is one of those turning racks--full of sleazy romance novels... we have, surrender my heart, sweet mercy, seduction in mind, make-believe bride, the bachelor cure, and so on. the librarian here is adorable, though, she could be peggy's long lost sister--got the same long thin hair and glasses, long skirt--very motherly librarian looking.
sunday we went back to house mtn park. everything is blooming, and grass is growing. thinking about that, though, when i was younger and went hiking in places without cleared trails and such, i don't remember ever seeing grass really in the trees, and flowers only very occasionally. i wonder if it's just a climate difference sort of thing, or if it's all due to the altering of the landscape etc by the trails..
hmm, i just noticed i can smell dill coming from somewhere.
