The problem is that Neo's Gun-Fu character trait in this movie was reduced to 1 in order that he could maximize his Doing Cool Matrixy Stuff ability. However, my opinion is that in maximizing his Matrixy attribute, he's overall a less-rounded character and not as versatile. Think about it: If he was wearing the same Uzi Belt of Holding and +2/+2 sidearms that he had from the lobby scene of the first movie, then the multiple Mr Smiths would have been toast in the hallway scene, and the Keymaker would have been saved. Stopping bullets is great when they're flying at you, but when they're flying at your buddies, it's another thing entirely. They can't fly if the guns from which they come are gripped in cold, dead fingers. Notice also that he's neglecting the Killstrike feat, which Trinity adeptly displayed in the first fight scene of Matrix I, and which would have really come in handy in Matrix II. Combine Killstrike with a reasonably high Matrixy ability (18/00), and he could have been killing Mr Smiths left and right instead of
