Turns out I now suck at updating my LJ, and I'm sorry about that, because I enjoy reading the posts you guys make, so I feel like a bit of a leech. Here, have a photo:
My drive home from HHS, my mountain school. Heat + rain = steamy mountains!
So, an update on the job front: my application for a change of jobs in the JET Programme was accepted, so July 29th will be my last day at Futamata and Haruno High Schools. On July 30th I'll start working in Kakegawa at Asunaro, the regional training center about 45 minutes away from here.
With that comes the fact that I may potentially be moving to Kakegawa sometime this summer. The teacher's housing apartments there are apparently really nice (if I can get one), and my own apartment building is old, gross, and due to be demolished in the next couple of years, so it would make sense for me to relocate now and get something better and closer to my new workplace. However, it'll put me further away from Jess and Elise, and apparently the building is a little bit inconveniently placed at a 10 minute drive from the nearest station and buses that run very irregularly. I do have a car, so that negates a bit of that, but still. Currently my closest station is a mere 6-7 minutes walk away from my aparentment and that is VERY convenient.
OR maybe I'm just a bit reluctant to move and start a new job, because I've really just settled into my groove at school and now have a good rapport with the teachers and am more or less enjoying myself and omg you guys new shit is scary! We'll see.
That aside, in July I'm going to go to Malaysia for a few days. I've booked the tickets, and what I hope is a really nice hotel (it had better be for that price!) on the beach with a ton of facilities like pools, restaurants, and bars, for if I feel too scared/intimidated to really venture out on my own. Because, oh, did I mention? I'm going alone. Baby's first solo holiday!
