One of many snow sculptures in Hokkaido.
My new ear hole doesn't hurt at all unless anything touches it, but hopefully that will pass soon. I have to remind myself it's still only a day old. Rotating it through the hole for cleaning is NOT gonna happen, though: the most I can do is move it up and down a little bit to make sure it doesn't stick. It's all just a bit too swollen and new for much jiggling. I'm sure at this early stage it will heal better the less it's moved anyway, provided no infection sets in. Still can't believe it didn't hurt more. Much more. Even if he'd used a skin numbing agent I'd expect it to have hurt more. If you can't tell, I'm a little flabbergast.
There are tentative plans underway to meet up with some Irish JETs in Osaka for St. Patrick's Day. I'm a little excited about that because I've not yet managed to do any of the touristy cities or sites, so it'll be new and awesome and I'll get to see my orientation room-mates again! Looks like most of us have opted to renew our contracts a second year too.
All-you-can-eat strawberry picking is a possibility for this coming weekend, too. A dip in an onsen afterwards would be nice, but it's probably not the best way to avoid an ear infection.
