Our house caught fire today. Just a little. There wasn't any damage done, but when you come home and your landlord is there saying there was a fire, you still tend to freak a little. When we first moved in, we discovered a gas leak in the heater. Easy enough to turn off the gas to the heater just and use a plug in radiator until things were fixed so we weren't in a rush. Pierre, out landlord, said he would get it fixed right away. Well, it seems that there was a crack in one of the pipes. Pierre had a guy come out and fix it. He said everything looked good to go, and left to get a few other supplies from the hardware store. Upon coming back to the house, he found the heater on fire. Fabulous!! Luckily it was confined to the heater itself, but had he not come back, our house, our stuff, the dog would have been gone. Just a tiny bit scary. Needless to say, Kallie got extra loving.
Speaking of Kallie, she's not doing well. She had a UTI when handed over and spend last night vomiting. I am hoping to get her on the same cranberry diet as I am to help with the dribbling. And I think she got into something when she discovered a crawl space under the house, which caused the vomiting. She is a happy puppy now, but I'm still a little worried. Banfield may be in our future soon, as I can get a free check up the first time we come in. *crosses fingers*
I want to say luck is on our side, but am hesitant to even think such thoughts.
