Scrub me a river....

That is it... I have finally finished finals and I'm preparing to do war upon the ginormous mess in my apartment. Somewhere along the way I passed my usual "messy but OK" and hit DIRTY. I will not live in dirty. Messy I can handle: some laundry, a cat, a few dishes is tolerable (as long as the bathroom is clean). Dirty is just dirty. Gross and nasty and I don't know how 350 square feet got this way in the three weeks I have been panicking about finals.

I am going to have to do something that I haven't done since I moved out of my first apartment in Sac. Channel the essence of my Aunt Barbara.

Anyone who has met her (or knows about her) knows that this is NOT a woman I like to even contemplate, but she is the most efficient and effective source of OCD cleanliness that I know. The woman washes her CEILINGS once a month!!! You could, if you so desired, eat a 12 course meal off her toilet and compliment the lemony aftertaste (gross but true).

It is time to clean bomb.

What is really fun is that it is snowing outside, hard, everything outside is crisp, white and perfect. Mostly because Mayor Daley cut the budget and there is no overtime for snowplows, i.e. my street don't GET plowed. This means my maintenance guys are out there snow blowing the whole street, bless their cold little tootsies. But I digress... My apartment needs to be fumigated. My cat is, as we speak hissing is ineffectual vitriol at the vacuum cleaner and my downstairs neighbor has just left for work (I checked cause I am gonna crank the volume up here).

SO, I will be Barbara today if you have any questions I will ignore them and criticize you for imagined slights and steal your inheritance while cleaning my home to standards higher than most hospital operating rooms.

I will exorcise her later this evening with a bootleg copy of an early episode of Dr. Who that is not available in the US commercially.
