"a thinking person makes a better artist"
So yesterday I moved into 226 Sanford at the North Carolina School of the Arts. It makes me miserably homesick for gsw but i can't and won't get into that, you can probably hear it personally from me the next time I talk to you because those feelings will probably still be in effect for a good long while. The dorm room looks amazing, and all you boys and girls are ALLOWED INSIDE (boys with specific and very amusing rules); females can spend the nights on weekends, which is gloriously appreciated and i'm quite excited. all the girls on the hall are amazingly sweet and i swear everyone here is absolutely gorgeous, girls anyway. i haven't been paying all that much attention to the guys. we'll see how long i can keep that up. (don't worry...) Our academic classes start on tuesday, but music classes, which is the focus, don't start until the college kids get back around september 15th...woohoo! this means i'll only have 2 classes a day until then. sounds like a plan. our room is absolutely amazing, it's so quaint and coordinated...we're the envy of the hall because my roommate (megan!) and i planned all of it out in extreme detail, which was apparently a pretty rad idea. please come visit me or i'll die. This morning I had my math placement test (gag me with a spoon) and this afternoon i have aural skills testing for music theory, which is pretty much my safe haven. really the only thing concerning music theory that i can do consistently well.
i'm planning to get extremely into arranging anything and everything for little ensembles, probably strings for the most part...send me requests and ideas for songs so i can try some different things. i wonder if i can make a career out of that...hmm...
so yall hold down the fort back in c-town (or wherever...) and i'll be home labor day weekend, and, of course, the next weekend to see coldplay (woohoo!)
