Yes! I think this is going to be a great but demanding rotation. It's only my first day of OB/GYN and I've already done more surgery in one day than I did the entire month of surgery! Of course, I look like an idiot but whatever. They can't blame me if I've had shitty teachers. And honestly, my last surgeon was great. It wasn't the best surgery rotation because all he did were laproscopies and colonoscopies etc with the occasional c-section thrown in. So not much for me to do. But then he didn't even offer to let me sew anyone up and I was too shy to ask. Watching scopes is really not that interesting. I could learn just as much or more watching TLC. So that's why I got so much time off. Today I got to help out with a DNC after a woman had an incomplete abortion. SHe was under full anesthesia (which was nice b/c they do them at PP with sedation only), and I got to actually DO stuff. But now I have to study lots and lots. We somehow got on the topic of Dr Evil (I think it was him ranting about medical education or something) and now he thinks I have reason to be worried because I didn't get to do anything. I don't think I've lost too much information, but now I'm not so sure... He kind of has me worried. He shook his head a lot today at my the horror of my third year and how much time and money I wasted. So that was less than lovely to see. Being sick for all that time doesn't help anything either. Lastly, this guy is on the move all the time. I've had to run to keep up with him and he's shorter than me! Dang. Well, that makes the day go faster and I'll burn more calories.
