Forced to give up his dreams of art school, Zach spends his days working a dead-end job and helping his needy sister care for her son. In his free time he surfs, draws and hangs out with his best friend, Gabe, who lives on the wealthy side of town. For those who haven't seen Without A Trace...
Without A Trace was a New York City based series that shared the true-to-life stories of an FBI missing persons unit, and was shot to emphasize the importance of each passing hour in the investigation.
Special Agent Martin Fitzgerald joined the unit at the beginning of the series, coming from a white collar crimes unit and had to spend some time proving his worth to the other agents. He was often partnered with Special Agent Danny Taylor, a street-wise aspiring lawyer with more field experience. Their first few months working together consisted of lots of fighting, insults, teasing, sexual tension, and snarkiness, but eventually they got to be a good working team.

This story begins approximately 8 months after the events of Shelter and approximately 7 months after the series finale of Without A Trace.
For purposes of this story, the actual wedding between Danny and Elena never took place - after all, if it was never caught on film, it never happened, right?
