TMI Pondering: Thoughts on Gay Porn and RL People
So I was talking to my friends (females and one’s boyfriend), and the subject trotted along to porn - whether soft or hard or whatever.
(god knows how, now I can’t even remember.)
Now these ladies and gent are fairly normal in that they just use the internet for checking up on tehir favourite bands, and facebook. That’s pretty much it. the internet isn’t a lifestyle thing they love like I do. So that was my first mistake, assuming they weren’t like the vast majority of wonderful people here. it’s like there’s two brands of normal - normal RL and normal internet.
(because so many people on the ‘net are all like ‘i’m so weird and unconventional’ and they’re really quite normal When grouped with everyone else on the ‘net. but in real life society…not so much. I forget this sometimes)
ANYWAY. So I said something casually like:
Me: Yeah but they never really make porn specifically for girls, do they? Like they have porn where a girl’s getting rammed by a guy, but no girl actually wants to see that - what’s the appeal? that’s for guys. For girls there’s only really gay porn.
Friends: *look of utter disbelief* What? of course people like normal porn.
Me: Yeah, but gay porn’s better for girls isn’t it? I mean it’s hotter.
Friends: *still staring at me like I have two heads* Eww…why? what?
Me: *growing increaisngly meeker* ‘cos…you know. There’s two guys. You watch porn for the guys. So…So there’s two so it’s better. No girl watches the girls in straight porn.
Friends: But….gay porn? Seriously?
Me: well..yeah…because guys love lesbian porn. What’s the difference? With gay-guy porn you get to see two hot men enjoy each other with no distraction of a woman you don’t want to look at if you’re a straight girl.
Friends: *still staring at me*
Me: …I just…how can you not?…I..you know, theoretically speaking of course…. *wants earth to swallow me up*
Is this just an internet thing? Because Tumblr’s full of straight girls who think that guy on guy action is hot as hell.
IT MAKES SENSE. I want to see two gorgeous guys enjoy each other in lots of ways and just generally be beautiful. There’ snot enough romance romance in proper porn, which i suppose is what fanfics and whatnot are for. I don’t want a bloody va-gay-gay putting me off, nor do I find some porn actress getting nailed by some guy all that appealing.
There’s exceptions to the rule, and I even don’t mind girl on girl if it has a burlesque/fetish feel to it, but still, i just don’t understand how they could utterly not even have it enter their minds.
