Thanks to cosplay shenanigans, this weekend has passed without an epic game. But that's okay. No one can say we didn't get our fill of geeky fun and, besides, a little downtime is good for the imagination. Ensures LJ and I will be at the top of our game for the next... errm... game.
That said, something has occurred to me: how very unique LJ's take on super hero-dom really is. The Super Hero Squad Show may have sparked things off but, thanks to more serious cartoons and the live-action movies, her world's grown into something deeper. Her blend of characterisation, action, slapstick comedy, cosmic-level threat, pathos, one-liners, romance and sheer nine-year-old's gross-out humour doesn't come 'round that often. Heck, the closest actual licensed fiction comes to it would be...

It should come as no surprise, then, that our family's hanging out for that game and this movie. On a personal note, I'm glad I finally caved and splurged on the rest of the Avengers mini-figs. Might have to go dig Spidey, Green Goblin and Doc Ock out of LJ's Lego tub...
