I think we need to go to Singapore

For the most part, I stay out of the Transformers fandom these days. That said, you can't move through the virtual halls of Cybertronian obsession without hearing about the new, movie-verse canon theme park ride at Universal Studios Singapore. Designed by the top engineers in the business, starring the original cast of the films (including Peter Cullen!) and directed by Michael Bay himself, it's the talk of the internet. I read some bits and pieces, shrugged my shoulders and thought "whatever". I mean, it's not like a ride could be so awesome that it'd be worth an international plane fare, right?

Wrong!

Holy flarking hippo spit, the lead-up to the ride gives the 'bots more on-screen characterisation and dialogue than the movies do! It gives us a canonical explanation of the "NEST" acronym! It has a little shop! And it's just completely freaking awesome besides!

stareyednight's been bugging me about what I want for Christmas. A plane ticket and a theme park pass is a little too much to ask, right? Hmm, maybe if I get back to writing tf_imperfect like she wants, I can sway her thinking...
