This could quite possibly be the most intelligent marketing move I have seen in RPGs for years. For the industry to survive, we need to find a way to get new youngsters interested in the hobby. Using local libraries not only as a way to promote D&D but also using D&D to promote reading and creativity in general is an awesome move on WOTC's part.

With local game stores being a dying breed that mostly caters to exhisting gamers, reaching out to potential new players through libraries is an excellent idea. I know a lot of RPG groups who meet and play at libraries, and they seem to be the groups that get the largest influx of new nongamer players.

I had some doubts in my mid as to whether WOTC really knew what they were doing, marketing wise, with D&D 4E, (some of their marketing through designer blogs and message boards has come accross as downright arrogant and condescending to the exhisting player base) but this video restores a good bit of my faith in them and their marketing strategy. I really hope that this move works out well for them.
