As a fellow fan, I definitely recommend it! :D You can still find most of the individual issues on Amazon. There's two collected editions available as well, the shiny hardcover and a paperback. The main drawback to the paperback is that it doesn't contain all the stories. It's missing "The Peppermint Girl" and "Doom of the Diva," which is no big loss, but much worse it's missing the final section of "The Interview" and ALL of "Mystery of the Manse" which is a huge shame.
I actually have a copy of the paperback, if you were interested. I know money's been kind of tight for you. The downsides are the missing stories, and the fact that I largely used it to scan images for this review, to spare my hardcover, so it's a bit...unhappy right now. ^_^; Still, I was planning on getting rid of it, because it's kind of redundant to have, so if you wanted it, I'd gladly send it your way!
Aw, that's sweet of you! :) I was going to look for a copy on Amazon, but more so to get my brother for Christmas or his birthday. I told him about it, and he's definitely interested. Even more of a Haunted Mansion fan than I am. :)
Oh! Yes! In the case of a gift, I would definitely go with a new copy over a somewhat abused one. Haha! Well, it's more expensive, but I have to say that if you can get a hold of the hardcover for a decent price that that'd be the way to go, since I think missing the "Mystery of the Manse" story it a big negative to the paperback. BUT the paperback is pretty good too, so it's a fall back. :D
