I think the arbitrary animal people thing only bothers me when there are humans there too, because it just raises too many questions for me. Are they an off-shoot or something? Are they mutants? What's going on? When everyone's an animal, then that's just how that world rolls and I don't really have a problem with it, but humans are pretty big jerks and it's hard for me to imagine no one even mentioning it. It's a VERY minor nitpick, though, you'd think for all the things I can suspend my disbelief for that wouldn't be a problem!

Ooh, you make a good point about Fleet though, that he stands out as all white. Normally when artists want something to stand out they color it red, but the subtle colors here really make the white stand out. Your eye is drawn right to him! Another neat thing! Haha! I think my problem with how I read his accent is as you say, things like using the word "blast" and the way he's dressed makes me think British for some reason. CULTURAL STEREOTYPES ARE AWESOME! Whoo!

I actually wish there was more of Isis in the book, too. She just kind of shows up goes "hey! I'm a goddess" and then we just move on. I feel like there's more to be done with her. Ah well.

I have actually started The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay on the recommendation of a friend, but I got stuck in the first chapter - which others have assured me is the place you'll get stuck if you do and that it picks up after that. I really need to get back to it one of these days...

I'm really, really hoping for a second book of the Intrepid EscapeGoat. I all kinds of enjoyed this first one, and I'd really like to see more. Maybe we can explore the world a bit more, yes, yes?

Why a goat anyway? Are goats well known for their escape prowess? I mean, I know they're all kinds of nimble, but not really escape artists. Why not a lizard? XD
