So you may be wondering why after making an excited post about having a laptop that allows me to get online whenever I want, I haven't really been online much. Well, that's because I spent most of the last week in incredible pain, which probably wasn't caused by but may or may not have been exacerbated by a nasty fall I had on Christmas morning.
At any rate, I haven't been able to walk, stand, sit or lie down without extreme pain. Like, I can't even explain to you all how much this hurt. All the time. There wasn't much I could do beyond sitting uncomfortably in a chair. Sleeping didn't work well either. It wasn't a dull pain, this was a constant, stabbing pain, nonstop.
I was pretty happy with my laptop, though, since I could load up Plants vs Zombies on it, a game which was fun and absorbing (to make me forget how much I was hurting) but required little thought (I could not concentrate). So that was pretty much all I did all week.
And yes, before anyone asks, I went to the hospital. Because that's what you want to do on Christmas break, go to the Emergency Room. And you know what? It's not even anything that's a big deal. It's not really dangerous, just extremely painful. Hooray. I left after only about an hour, armed with prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medication.
The medications did their thing, and I'm feeling MUCH better now. It still hurts, but I'm able to do things and get a good night's sleep. But that's NOW. You know, after my vacation.
So basically there's the whole reason I'm making this post, to vent my frustration that I spent the entirety of my Christmas vacation, which I had been looking forward to for months, writhing in pain and annoying my family. It's becoming a ridiculous tradition that something terribly painful happens to me every time I go home. The bruises from the fall aren't fun either.
