Yay!!!

And we did it the smart and healthy way. We have not given up carbs, sweets, or alcohol. I have my 4 Hershey's Kisses (25 calories each) every day at 4pm, we have a little bit of white rice, potatoes, or Barilla Plus pasta every night with dinner, and a glass of red wine after dinner. We're just eating smarter with smaller portions and healthier, low-cal snacks during the day, and getting plenty of exercise (20-30 minutes of cardio plus ab exercises 4-5 times a week). We only count calories, not fat or carbs. At all. It's slow progress but it's progress, and this way we'll keep it off. It's all about lifestyle change - learning how to make our bellies feel full with less food, learning how to get in bits of exercise here and there like taking little walks during the day, stuff like that. shelbythecat also suggested that I drink more water, and that's helping. I'm up to 2-3 litres a day. We feel great, we look great, and we're very proud of ourselves.

We're keeping this up for a little while longer, and then will focus on maintenance.

But it's so good to know that our efforts are actually working!

I'm still scratchy but am answering phones again at work (yay!) and drinking plenty of hot tea with honey.
