A Writing Mantra
I am not Neil Gaiman. I am not Mercedes Lackey not Nora Roberts nor Anne McCaffrey. I am not Stephen King. I am not Kelley Armstrong nor Ann Aguirre.
I'm simply me, and I can only write the way I write.
I should never compare my writing to other people's. Everyone writes differently. The way I write does not make me a lesser writer.
It's okay to write a discovery draft that sucks. It will not be perfect on the first go around since I'm learning who my characters are and what the story is.
I can do this, and I will write to the best of my ability.
