Another Semester, Another Adventure

My Academic Libraries class is an absolute train wreck. We're already a week and a half into the semester, and my teacher hasn't even posted the syllabus yet. She has, however, given us a ton of start-up assignments with hardly any instruction. It's like she expects me to already know how an academic library works. Lady, I've never worked in an academic library; that's why I'm taking your class.

In more positive news, my Young Adult Materials class looks like it's going to be fun. You mostly want me to read 25 young adult novels? Eleven from writers of your choice, and then fourteen of my choices? Really? *Is giddy* Yes, I know, YA materials has nothing to do with working in an academic library, but I wanted to take a fun class and you never know, I may wind up getting a job at a public library as a YA librarian. It could happen.

All in all, it's not a bad start. I'm hoping the AL professor gets her act together and soon. I have no idea what's going on in that class.

Any of you having better luck on the education front? Or did you have a hairbrained professor like this?
