Tv has returned to me and the book I'm reading is getting good. Let's discuss, shall we?
First off, not nearly enough Tim for my taste. One scene? All I got was one scene?
Moving on, I like Waverly...a lot. I like how she basically told Smash she wouldn't be at his beck and call unless he was willing to give. Good for her. I hope she holds her ground.
Matt and Julie were absolutely adorable in this ep. I'm so glad she decided to give him a chance. I also loved how instead of yelling at him about the library, she set down her books and gave him a hand. Matt needs that...badly. He is "like a little stink bug." Matt's relationship with his dad is very mature, and I like how he told him he knew he wasn't happy. I know it was hard on Matt, but Matt's more mature than most of his teammates.
I'm still on the fence about Lyla. I know Jason is her whole world and he's a great guy, but please, please have a life outside of him. You don't know what's going to happen with this lawsuit.
And poor Jason, stuck in the middle of this lawsuit. Yes, he was going along with it at the end, but I still don't think his heart is in it.
Last, but not least, Tyra. Loved her in this episode. Loved how she stood up to her mom's boyfriend and how she told Tim no. (Granted, she's the pot calling the kettle black with Tim -- remember the bank guy she slept with? -- but I see what she was doing.) I still love Tim/Tyra, though.
*Blinks* That's it? That was the Big Reveal? Hell, I knew that already! *Sigh* So what is Sam?????
But I firmly believe that not all of these "soldiers" are going to be evil. The Demon desperately wants them to be, but I think many of them will be on the side of good. It's nature vs. nurture, here, and despite all of his faults, I think John did the best parenting he could. It's going to come down to Dean putting all of his faith in his brother. But, really, how useful would Sam's powers be in a war (unless he develops the telekinesis)? To quote Phoebe from Charmed: "What am I gonna do? Premonition him to death?"
Ava! Oh, Ava! I so want to believe she's still good. She was an awesome, tough character. Love how she took a chance and warned Sam. I could totally go Sam/Ava.
And Ellen and Ash were awesome! Please, Lord, let them stay good. And Jo is off fighting the fight. Good...now she can grow up a bit before she sees the boys again.
And now on the book side of things, I'm almost done with Mercedes Lackey's Jinx High. It's a shame there are only three Diana Tregarde novels. I really love this world and I've finally reached a point where I like Diana.
Diana is actually really likeable in this one. She's tough without being pushy and annoying this time. Her bitchiness in the previous two books was starting to bother me. It seems like she's finally settled into her Guardian role and stopped complaining.
I love her "Spook Squad" people and would love to know more about them. Too bad Mercedes Lackey didn't write a Spook Squad book.
The only thing bugging me in this book are the teenagers. But they're supposed to. It's obvious Misty's never taught an English class (an engaged and spirited discussion? Out of high schoolers???), but she has the teens right. They should be a little self-centered and make many mistakes. That's part of being a teenager, even if you're a psychic teenager.
And as I reach the end, I hope Fay gets her ass kicked. She's pissing me off.
OK...time to take a shower and make a trip to the used book store. After reading her short story in My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding, I've been curious about P.N. Elrod's Vampire Files series. Has any of you ever read them? Are they good?
