I am currently inside the NDCP Library. I am here to do research for work. This is the first time I've been inside the NDCP facilities. To those who don't know what the NDCP is, this is a military a college that administers the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program. Graduates of this program are commissioned as lieutenant ( Read more... )

Haha. I don't think they were particularly evil or malicious. They were just annoying and lazy and inefficient.

Yeah, that experience made me value the Rizal Library all the more. ^^

Bwahahahaha! Point taken!

Too small -- yeah. AND I don't think they're even following the prescribed classification system (Is it still the Dewey Decimal Classification System? ^O^) Then again, I've learned to recalibrate my expectations when it comes to government personnel and government offices. If I don't adopt a sense of perspective I'll just go mad, mad, maaaaaaad!!!!!

But I really think that the government should adjust to the people's needs, NOT the other way around. After all, we are a democracy and a democracy is basically a government for the people, by the people and of the people. What are we paying our taxes for anyway?

OMG! Dewey Decimal System! 0.o that is so GRADE SCHOOL! hahaha i think there's a new system, the one that OPAC uses but i'm not sure what it's called. ^_^ Oh, funny thing, we had a customer earlier who i had a conversation with about the DDCS! omg! i so felt like a nerd! haha

and yes, well, with anything gov't related there we have to drop whatever expectations you have. haha i'm glad you're still as adaptive as ever! haha i so hate to see you go maaadddd because of that kind of crap! LOL!

But I really think that the government should adjust to the people's needs, NOT the other way around.
TOTALLY AGREE! that's exactly what i like about the government here. i'm sure there are some icks and squicks here and there but overall they kindda do their job, you actually see your taxes (no matter how horrendously heavy taxes are here) working. it's pretty efficient.

and well, philippine taxation - *rolls eyes* they actually give you a hard time when you voluntarily declare your income and pay taxes. omg! >.

do i actually want to hear about this? lol. i still remember our thesis days and even if i had the best group i could possibly hope for, it was still hard as hell (esp with the extremely OC thesis adviser and equally OC groupmates! admittedly i had my OC days too) haha!

Do you really want to hear about this? ^O^ Let me just say that I'm pretty sure any AdMU undergraduate worth the Ateneo diploma (and perhaps even some of those who didn't quite make the cut) could whip up a better thesis than the MNSA graduates. And this is considering that the MNSA graduates are at least 35 years old and are required to have senior leadership positions in the military/police, the government or private corporations. @_@ Seriously. They're THAT bad. Quoting wikipedia and other generic Internet sources for the review of literature, copy-pasting research designs of other theses, biased/leading questions in the survey questionnaire, a very limited sample despite the broad scope of the issues studied, making the thesis look long and thick and intimidating by bulking up the appendices with the full texts of various laws--in a MASTERAL-LEVEL thesis wherein successful graduates are commissioned as lieutenant colonels.
