ok, so I was perusing the On Demand one day, looking for music videos to watch, and I watched all the new ones that I hadn't seen yet (Ghost of You by MCR, DOA by Foo Fighters, and some other ones) and I was looking for some new stuff that I've never heard before....so I came across the Avenged Sevenfold video for Bat Country....I'd heard OF them but never heard anything by them, so I decided to give it a try...besides, if it sucked then I could just hit stop and look for something else! Aaahhh the beauty of On Demand....anyway....Oh My Fucking GOD what an awesome song! Holy shit......it sounded WAY different than most of what is out today, and lo and behold, is that a dueling GUITAR SOLO I hear? Why yes, by fucking god it is!! I hadn't heard a shredding guitar solo like that since......fuck, since the 80's! I was flabbergasted and immediately began my quest to learn more about this wonderful band. True to my suspicions, they ARE influenced by Iron Maiden, and bands of the like. YES!!!!! I can't wait to go buy this album... I heard Wicked End on it....it has strings, a'la November Rain, but BETTER.....much more metal. Oh my god.....and it's metal that I can understand, not this growly shit that has been permeating Headbanger's Ball in the past 5 years, like that Lamb of God and Messhuggeh crap. This guy, M. Shadows, actually SINGS, and quite well, and musically? They are on par with Metallica. Or Megadeth. You know, the legends. So anyway, buy this album, and I mean NOW.
