Hi, Cheri,

What I came up with, which I think is equitable for all of us is to stay the first two nights south of Boston, like in Plymouth, then go to central Boston for the remaining four nights.  That ( Read more... )

hey cher- as an outsider to the situation, this seems like a reasonable compromise to me. if i were you, i'd let it go, and i'd do that w/ a smile. picture the difference between dallas and ft. worth: not very far, right? however, there have been several occasions where i've chosen to spend the night in dallas (it allowed me to drink more, stay out later, really enjoy the time in dallas, etc.) you're on vacation, so you'll never be really "settled" anyway; i don't think 2 nights in 1 place and the rest in another will be that big of a deal. when j and i went to new mexico over thanksgiving, we only had the time-share for 2 nights so we had to move to a hotel for the other 2 nights. i was kind of dreading it, but i knew to expect it so it really wasn't a big deal.
also on the compromise front, from your mom's perspective, you mentioned plymouth in your to-do list; therefore, she's really following your wishes. ya know?
that's how i see it- i know it's a lot different from the inside. it IS your trip and i think your fam is showing that they know that- you're gonna have a great time! i'd just let this one roll off your back! :), christi c

You're right - it's really not that big of a deal to have to move from 1 hotel to another, especially if it gives us a chance to visit Plymouth.

Also my mom said staying outside Boston is less expensive, so that's part of the motivation. Which I totally understand.
