Doctor Who Christmas Special: Review
Half a good episode.
Morrisey's not-doctor was awesome, and it was truly poignant to see him coping - and it fit the theme of the Doctor inspiring people to be better. There was real characterization.
Rosita was OK. Started annoying, but then we saw some real poignance to her.
The Cybermen . . . not so much. Not really needed, over the top mixed with too subtle, and a TOTAL waste of a giant robot. A different, and frankly creepier plot was needed. I did like the idea that the Cybermen were gladly ripping off Dalek tech - and were vulnerable to control.
What was needed I could see was a FAILED cyber-invasion. Tech and clues all over, but only one Cyberman made it, and passed away. The mystery instead would be over the Second Doctor.
