Time... I need more of it!

Well, it really started Thursday night when hubby discovered we’d received an email in the business account after hours. It was from the state Main Roads Department and it was informing us that we’ve been chosen for a random audit of our Fatigue Management system and our Vehicle Maintenance Records *oh joy* Like I have time to deal with this before Christmas! I spent most of Friday going through our maintenance records, double-checking things and earmarking others for hubby’s attention or input. Our fatigue records are up to date on a daily basis, so they’re ready to go, but the maintenance records are full of fidgety details that I don’t always understand and while I have all the records, they’re not always entered into the register immediately, because I need hubby to explain some things.

Friday night, Mitch and his girlfriend went to my sister-in-law’s to baby-sit my nephews. Despite my insisting that they had separate rooms, they ended up sleeping together on the couch. Nothing went on, but still…

Hubby worked Saturday morning, and then slept the rest of the day (he’s done some insane hours this week).

I also spoke to the organization we’re adopting Bonnie from on Saturday morning. I’m picking her up on Friday *bounces* I can have her anytime I like, but I think it’s best to leave her where she’s comfortable to recover for now. The yard inspection didn’t go ahead, because they couldn’t find anyone to do it, so I just assured the woman I’ve been dealing with that my yard was fully secured and I’ve never had a dog escape from it (her niece lives down here, so she’s just going to pop in when she’s visiting next).

Tori and I packed her suitcase and double-checked that she had everything a billion times - this went on all day Saturday!

It was also Maddy’s best friend’s birthday on Saturday, so she spent Saturday night and all of today there.

Tori and I went to see New Moon again on Saturday night. It was more to keep her mind off her trip than anything else, because she had become increasingly fidgety as the day wore on. Still love the movie!

Today, Tori flew out for the Australian Institute of Sport. I do not envy her netball coach! She has twenty-one very excitable 14 and 15 year old active girls to deal with for the next week. It as a very long afternoon at the airport; we had to be there by 1pm and they didn’t board until 3:05pm, and by that time they were all very anxious to be on their way.

I keep wondering how Tori handled the flight (it’s the first time she’s flown). I want to call her, but they weren’t allowed to take their cell phones *pouts* I would have liked the opportunity to talk to her occasionally, you know? She is on the other side of the damned country, far away from me… further than she’s ever been… What if she needs me?
