Okay, where’s the pause button!

I swear, my head is going to asplode if I have to store any more information!

I met with the builder last Wednesday. While it was a good exercise to see where we’re at, it was a total waste of time on my part, because the price he quoted me to add two rooms to our existing house could have built me an entire brand new house and not a small one at that. I’m still trying to figure out how they come up with such exorbitant prices. Needless to say, our extension will not be brick and tile!

However, I think we have decided on a ‘builder’. We met with another builder this afternoon to talk about the same type of prefabricated add-on rooms we looked at a couple of weeks ago. This builder only deals with these types of structures, whereas the other one did sheds/garages primarily and these as a sideline. Anyway, this builder is going to make it look like part of the house, as in we will have access directly through the house and from the inside you won’t be able to tell you’ve walked through to an extension of the original house that’s made from something other than brick and tile. We looked at his showcase of photos and he gave us a rough estimate, and he’s coming back Thursday night with a firm quote and proper drawings for what we want. And instead of the cladding the other rooms had, this extension will be rendered, so if we rendered the rest of the house it wouldn’t look like an extension at all - except for the roof line. The big plus - he said, depending on council building approval, it could be finished before Christmas!

Anyway, we’ll see what the final quote is, but hubby and I are both happy with what he’s shown us so far.

In other news, Maddy played her last game of netball for the winter season on Saturday. Her age group doesn’t play finals, not that her team would have made finals if they did anyway. Her coach talked to me about grading her appropriately next year and I agreed wholeheartedly - she’s just too good to be in that team and that’s no disrespect to the other girls. She’s also decided to try out for TDS (Talent Development Squad) *sigh* There goes life as we knew it! Her coach is behind her all the way and thinks she’ll have a good chance at getting into the squad.

Tori’s team belted their opposition on Saturday. They actually took the minor premiership in the end *woot* Their first final is this Saturday and there’s no reason why they can’t take the premiership, so hopefully they’ll fulfil their potential *crosses fingers*

My football team had the weekend off - the pleasures of taking the minor premiership *dances* Our first final is this Saturday and we’ll be celebrating Mitch’s 150th game of football - he won’t actually play it until the game after, but if we win on Saturday we’re straight through to the Grand Final and that’s not really the game you want to be playing such an important (and rarely achieved) milestone. Of course, this means I have to make a banner for him to run through sometime this week.

Hubby’s Colts won their first final on Sunday *woot*

We have so much going on over the next month that I’ve had to make a whole new calendar for it, so we don’t forget anything and can sort out any scheduling clashes (there are more than a few) ahead of time.

Something I am looking forward to is having lunch with americonedream on Wednesday. It’ll probably be the last time I have time to do something for myself for some time, so I fully intend on making the most of the time and the wonderful company.

Oh, and I have to add that I’m going to kill my son…

Mitch: Can you send me some trees for Farm Town (on Facebook)?

Me: I don’t do Farm Town.

One of my friends has been going on and on for weeks about how much fun Farm Town is, and I’ve successfully resisted the urge to check it out.

Mitch: How can you not play Farm Town? You HAVE to play Farm Town! I’m sending you an invite!

Me: *rolls eyes*

Yeah, so that was last Thursday or Friday… Time is beginning to blur. And Farm Town… It’s addictive!
