Five days of fun!!!
We've had a brilliant time over the last five days. Our friends arrived Wednesday afternoon and hubby managed to get off work early so he got home only an hour or so after they arrived.
Wednesday night we had a barbeque to celebrate my best friends birthday, I couldn't help myself - I got a Tiramisu Torte for desert! On Thursday us girls went shopping and gave the plastic a really good work out. On Friday they had to go and sort out some paperwork for their new car so I took their girls plus my three swimming at the leisure center then home for lunch and when they got home we went shopping again, picking up some really good bargains.
Saturday was excellent The Perth Royal Show - I love the show, it costs heaps to go but it's great fun. This year the government decided to let kids under 15 in for free so that saved us heaps. We got some more bargains there too!! Went on heaps of rides and we stayed late to see the fireworks - they were spectacular being the last night of the show. This year was the 100th year the Royal Show has been running so they had a lot of memorabilia around the grounds - while I was looking for information on hubby's Nan (the whole family worked at the show for years and years) I came across a lot of information about my great uncle who used to run the boxing ring at the show early in the 20th century, quite a surprise!
This morning was packing and saying goodbye again. The house seems so empty and quiet now even though the five of us are home. I'm absolutely exhausted but pleasantly so!
Now I'm going to try to catch up with my flist - if you've posted something interesting and I haven't commented or something just give me a prod :D Then I've got a chapter to beta for snarky_devil2 and get back to some writing of my own. Plus I've got some recipes for cabbage_capers that I collected at the show so I've got to type up and post those too.
