Now I feel really, really OLD!
Today was so busy *falls in a heap*
I should have known it was going to be one of those days when Mitch missed the school bus this morning and I had to drive him to school, which meant having Maddy ready to go a half hour before her usual time - not something that impressed her.
After I got rid of the kids, I did the grocery shopping, which was mercifully small thanks to yesterdays efforts. Then I had laundry to get dry and a house to clean (never-ending chore there).
I also had a meeting with Mitch’s principal this afternoon to discuss his options for next year. It was, thankfully, fairly quick, because he’s very focused on what he wants to do with his life. We came away from the meeting with some more paperwork to fill in, so he can apply for an apprenticeship while still attending high school (this would be perfect, because he’d get paid for the time he spent at ‘work’). Once they have that paperwork they’ll help him to prepare for the interviews he’ll have to attend (this course is very competitive) and help him every step of the way. I've signed off on his courses for next year, so hopefully everything will go ahead smoothly from here :)
When Tori got home from school she told me her juice bottle had leaked through her school bag today. It’s a sticky, yucky mess and her netball shoes are soaked *grumbles* So we had to bolt to the shops to get her a bag for tomorrow *kicks self for throwing out all the old ones we had*
In the middle of all that I got a phone call from an old friend of ours. She’s the same age as me (four months younger actually) and she split up with her second husband just over a year ago. Anyway, she’s moving up north and needed the contact details of mutual friend who’s lived up there for years. She also had some news to tell: she became a GRANDMOTHER a couple of months ago! Her oldest son is not quite eighteen (only three years older than Mitch) and is now a father. I feel so OLD!
